In today's highly homogenized RV market, the Yonghe Wild No. 1, a pop-top RV built on the Great Wall Hi4-T plug-in hybrid chassis, has emerged. This model, developed by Sichuan Yonghe RV, redefines the space utilization and off-road performance of pickup truck RVs with its non-decoupled plug-in hybrid four-wheel drive system, a massive 1700×1900mm pop-top bed, and an innovative semi-open bathroom design. Although its price of 458,000 yuan faces challenges in the market, its technological highlights and innovative layout are still worth exploring in depth. Those interested in this RV can visit the Chengdu RV Show hosted by RVCat Mall (Chengdu Trading Center) from September 19th to 21st, 2025, to experience it up close.

The Yonghe Wild No. 1 features a pop-top design and external dimensions of 5462×1992×1960mm, allowing easy access to urban underground parking garages. The body is predominantly black, with clean lines outlining a rugged off-road style. The pop-up roof structure utilizes high-strength, lightweight materials, ensuring stability while reducing wind resistance. The rear features an externally mounted spare tire and storage compartment, while a side-mounted electric awning and outdoor lighting system meet camping needs.

The vehicle boasts a rich array of external features, including a 270° awning, electric steps, an external shower head, and a diesel stove (optional). A rear drawer-style storage compartment can accommodate outdoor tables, chairs, tools, and other equipment, while a roof rack supports the addition of a rooftop tent or luggage box. Underbody protection and all-terrain tires further enhance off-road capability.

The cab continues the luxurious design of the Great Wall Mountain Cannon, featuring a dual-screen system consisting of a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 14.6-inch central control screen, equipped with L2+ level intelligent driving assistance. The seats are upholstered in Nappa leather and support multi-directional electric adjustment and heating/ventilation functions. The Hi4-T plug-in hybrid system's dedicated interface displays real-time energy flow, driving range, and motor status, enhancing the driving experience.

Based on the Great Wall Hi4-T double-cab four-door pickup truck chassis, it adopts a non-decoupled plug-in hybrid four-wheel drive system consisting of a 2.0T engine, a 9HAT transmission, and a P2 motor, with a combined power of 300kW and a peak torque of 750N·m. The rigid axle rear suspension, paired with BorgWarner TOD intelligent four-wheel drive, supports seven driving modes. The 37kWh battery supports 24-minute fast charging (30%-80%) and 6kW external discharge, providing a pure electric range of 100 kilometers.

The interior features a light gray color scheme with a cool-light LED lighting system, creating a bright and airy feel. Above the cab is a 1700×1900mm pop-up double bed, accommodating a family of three. The middle section features an L-shaped dinette sofa and a height-adjustable dining table, replacing the traditional dinette design and freeing up more legroom.

Addressing the cramped rear seats of double-cab pickups, the Yonghe Jiye No. 1 places the kitchen area at the front, creating a semi-open interactive space with the dinette area. The kitchen countertop is equipped with an induction cooker, a 72L refrigerator, and a microwave oven. Side pull-out drawers provide storage for condiment bottles

and jars. The living area features hidden storage compartments at the top and a 220V power outlet and USB charging port below. The built-in kitchen area has an L-shaped countertop design, providing 0.8㎡ of workspace. The countertop integrates a covered sink, induction cooker, and range hood, with drawers below for pots and pans. The 72L double-door refrigerator supports freezing down to -18℃, and the microwave oven is integrated into the side of the booth seating. A push-out window with a mosquito net ensures ventilation.

The pop-up bed uses a hydraulic strut support structure, reaching a height of 1.2 meters when unfolded, allowing adults to sit upright. Hidden storage nets are located under the bed for clothing and bedding. The driver's seat can rotate 180° to form a temporary rest area with the booth seating, accommodating multiple passengers.

The bathroom features a sliding partition door, measuring 800×900mm when unfolded, and is equipped with a Thetford swivel toilet, a folding sink, and a separate shower. The wet area features waterproof PVC flooring and a two-way ventilation fan on the ceiling. In a semi-open state, the bathroom and seating area form a transparent corridor, alleviating any feeling of crampedness.

The water and electricity system includes a 120L fresh water tank, a 40L grey water tank, and a manual drain valve. A 48V 100Ah lithium battery (approximately 5.12kWh) paired with a 3kW inverter and a 750W solar panel on the roof can provide 3-4 kWh of electricity per day. Unfortunately, the 37kWh power battery in the chassis is not integrated with the living area's electrical circuit, requiring charging while driving or external power supply, which diminishes the advantages of the plug-in hybrid system.

The Yonghe Extreme Wilderness No. 1 RV, based on the Hi4-T plug-in hybrid chassis, showcases a unique approach in off-road performance, spatial layout, and detailed design. Although insufficient integration of the water and electricity system and a relatively high price limit its market competitiveness, its innovative features such as the pop-up bed design and semi-open bathroom offer new ideas for the pickup truck RV market.
