September-30th-2025
In today's increasingly homogenized RV market, the Yonghe Jiye No. 1, a pop-up RV based on the Great Wall Shanhaipao Hi4-T plug-in hybrid chassis, has emerged. Built by Sichuan Yonghe RV, this model redefines the space utilization and off-road performance of pickup trucks with its non-decoupled plug-in hybrid four-wheel drive system, a large 1700×1900mm pop-up bed, and an innovative semi-open bathroom. While its 458,000 yuan price tag presents challenges in the market, its technological highlights and innovative design warrant further exploration. Interested parties can visit the Chengdu RV Show hosted by RV Cat Mall (Chengdu Trading Center) from September 19-21, 2025, to experience this RV up close.

The Yonghe Jiye No. 1 features a pop-up roof design with exterior dimensions of 5462×1992×1960mm, making it easily accessible in urban basements. Its predominantly black exterior, with clean lines, exudes a rugged off-road styling. The pop-up roof structure utilizes high-strength, lightweight materials, ensuring stability while reducing wind resistance. An external spare tire and storage compartment are mounted at the rear, while a powered awning and outdoor lighting system are located on the sides, perfect for camping.

The vehicle boasts a wealth of exterior features, including a 270-degree awning, powered steps, an external showerhead, and an optional diesel stove. A drawer-style storage compartment at the rear accommodates outdoor tables, chairs, tools, and other equipment, while a rooftop luggage rack supports the installation of a rooftop tent or luggage compartment. Underbody guards and automatic off-road tires further enhance off-pavement maneuverability.

The cabin continues the luxurious design of the Great Wall Shanhai Pao, featuring a dual-screen system consisting of a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 14.6-inch central control screen, equipped with L2+ intelligent driving assistance. The seats are upholstered in Nappa leather, feature multi-directional power adjustment, and heating/ventilation. A dedicated interface for the Hi4-T plug-in hybrid system displays real-time energy flow, range, and motor operating conditions, enhancing driver engagement.

Based on the Great Wall Shanhaipao Hi4-T double-row, four-door pickup truck chassis, the vehicle features a non-decoupled plug-in hybrid four-wheel drive system consisting of a 2.0T engine, a 9HAT transmission, and a P2 electric motor. It generates a combined power of 300kW and a peak torque of 750N·m. The rigid axle rear suspension is paired with BorgWarner's TOD intelligent four-wheel drive, supporting seven driving modes. The 37kWh battery supports 24-minute fast charging (30%-80%) and 6kW external discharge, achieving a pure electric range of 100km.

The interior is dominated by a light gray color scheme, complemented by a cold-light LED lighting system, creating a transparent visual experience. Above the cab is a 1700×1900mm pop-up double bed, accommodating a family of three. The center section features an L-shaped banquette sofa and a liftable dining table, replacing the traditional double-row bench design to create more legroom.

To address the cramped rear seats of double-row pickup trucks, the Yonghe Jiye No. 1 has positioned the kitchen area forward, creating a semi-open interactive space with the banquette area. The kitchen countertop is equipped with an induction cooktop, a 72L refrigerator, and a microwave oven, with side pull-out drawers for storing spice

bottles and cans. The reception area features a hidden storage compartment above, with a 220V power outlet and USB charging port underneath. The built-in kitchen area features an L-shaped countertop design, offering 0.8 square meters of workspace. It includes a covered sink, induction cooktop, and range hood, and a drawer below for pots and pans. The 72L double-door refrigerator can freeze to -18°C, and the microwave is recessed into the side of the booth. The sliding windows are equipped with mosquito screens for excellent ventilation.

The hydraulically supported bunk bed reaches a height of 1.2 meters when deployed, allowing an adult to sit upright. A hidden net storage pocket beneath the bed provides space for clothing and bedding. The cab seat rotates 180°, creating a temporary rest area with the booth, perfect for multiple passengers.

The bathroom features a sliding partition door measuring 800×900mm when deployed and is equipped with a Setford swivel toilet, a folding washbasin, and a separate shower. The wet area features waterproof PVC flooring with a two-way overhead ventilation fan. When partially open, the bathroom and booth area form a transparent corridor, alleviating the feeling of being cramped.

The water and electricity system includes a 120L clean water tank, a 40L gray water tank, and a manual drain valve. A 48V 100Ah lithium battery (approximately 5.12kWh) paired with a 3kW inverter and a 750W rooftop solar panel provides an average daily power supply of 3-4kWh. Unfortunately, the chassis' 37kWh power battery is not connected to the living area circuit and can only be charged while driving or from an external power source, diminishing the advantages of the plug-in hybrid system.

The Yonghe Jiye No. 1 RV, built on the Hi4-T plug-in hybrid chassis, showcases unique off-road performance, spatial layout, and detailed design. While the lack of integrated water and electricity systems and high pricing limit its market competitiveness, its innovative design, such as the lift-up bed and semi-open bathroom, offers new insights into the pickup truck segment.
