In 2025, Jiangling Motors' original factory RVs continued to lead the industry with best-selling models such as the "Little Wild Bull," ranking second in national sales in the first quarter. Riding this momentum, the Ford Ranger pickup truck-modified "Golden Leopard" off-road RV broke through the limitations of traditional pickup truck RVs with its innovative design, becoming an all-rounder that balances off-road performance and urban commuting. Those interested in this RV can visit the RVCat Mall (Chengdu Trading Center) from September 19th to 21st, 2025, to participate in the Chengdu RV Exhibition hosted by RVCat and experience it up close.

This hardtop RV, measuring 5580×2080×2090mm, achieves free access to underground parking garages with its 2090mm maximum height design. Furthermore, it redefines the performance benchmark for off-road RVs with innovative configurations such as the original radar system and modular expansion design. The "Golden Leopard" uses a double-cab pickup truck chassis, retaining the original vehicle's passability while avoiding the bulkiness of traditional Class C RVs through its compact body design. The stainless steel perforated panels on both sides of the cabin serve both as equipment expansion and window protection functions. The pop-up roof structure expands vertical space when unfolded, and the four-sided side windows ensure ample natural light.

Based on the Ford Ranger, the cockpit features a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 12.1-inch vertical central control screen, with a smooth-operating infotainment system powered by the Qualcomm 8155 chip. Powertrain options include diesel and gasoline: a 2.3T Ecoboost gasoline engine producing 190kW/450N·m, and a 2.3T PUMA diesel engine offering 137kW/470N·m of torque, both paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Core off-road features include the EMOD intelligent four-wheel drive system and front and rear electronic differential locks, which can distribute torque and lock wheels in real time, combined with an approach angle of 28° and a departure angle of 26°, easily handling complex terrain.

The interior features a rugged aesthetic combination of slate gray and wood grain. The pull-out bed above the cab expands to 1950×1530mm and features wraparound side windows. The central seating area can accommodate four people. The dining table can be lowered to create a temporary 1800×900mm bed. A perforated panel connecting to the driver's cab provides an expansion interface for equipment.

The living area is relatively compact, with a small kitchen containing a 50-liter refrigerator and a DC inverter air conditioner specifically designed for RVs. There is no fixed bathroom; a portable toilet serves as a substitute. In terms of water and electricity, the vehicle is equipped with a 102-liter fresh water tank, an 18-liter grey water tank, a 12V 5 kWh lithium battery, a 3kW high-frequency inverter/charger, a seven-pin charging port (for new energy vehicles), a portable toilet, a gravity-fed water inlet, and a hot water system for both driving and parking, meeting the water and electricity needs of a traveler's lifestyle.

As an innovative pickup truck converted into an RV, the "Golden Leopard" is officially priced at 338,000 RMB, addressing safety concerns in modified vehicles through deep factory integration. Its success demonstrates the market demand for hybrid products that combine "light camping" and "heavy off-roading," but whether it can maintain its sales success remains to be seen and will depend on consumer scrutiny of both brand premium and practical value. If you are interested in this RV, you can visit the Chengdu International RV Show from September 19-21, 2025 at the Chengdu International Trade City RV Cat Mall.
