For off-road enthusiasts, conquering the wilderness and living in a poetic environment often seemed like a contradiction-until the Beidou Y500 Flagship Edition arrived. Built on the Iveco Austen Mountain and Sea Edition short-axle chassis, this pop-up camper boasts a full-time four-wheel drive system and three differential locks, combining off-road freedom with camping comfort in a mobile feast. Interested parties can experience this RV up close at the Chengdu RV Show hosted by RVCat Mall (Chengdu Trading Center) from September 19-21, 2025. Its

compact dimensions of 5140mm × 2090mm × 2530mm give the Beidou Y500 the agility to navigate the wilderness. The short-axle, low-roof design not only reduces wind resistance but also expands space through a retractable roof structure combining a hard roof panel and a soft tarp. With the roof raised, the 1950mm x 1300mm double bed allows for a peaceful sleep under the stars. The rear design holds hidden secrets: a full-size spare tire, ladder, and toolbox are integrated on one side, while a large storage compartment and an external bailout plate on the other create an "off-road equipment wall." The three-square-hole side skirts resemble medals, etched with the marks of every conquest.

The Beidou Y500's robust body-on-frame structure is the foundation of its strength. The combination of a full-time four-wheel drive system and three electronically controlled differential locks (front, transfer case, and rear axle) allows the 265/75R16 AT all-terrain tires to navigate mud and gravel with ease. With a minimum ground clearance of 215mm, a 30° approach angle, a 17° departure angle, and a 60% maximum gradeability, it creates an invisible "off-road moat." Powering the vehicle is a 3.0T diesel engine with a maximum power of 132kW and a peak torque of 430N·m, paired with an 8-

speed automatic transmission. This delivers impressive fuel economy while ensuring impressive power. The layout also boasts a host of hidden gems: the front seats are electrically adjustable, heated, and ventilated, and feature a folding tray table, transforming the vehicle into a mobile office. The rear double bench, when rotated, creates a 2500mm x 900mm longitudinal bed, which, when combined with the pop-up top, creates a "double bed" configuration. Details like privacy curtains, reading lights, and an onboard refrigerator add a touch of home comfort to a night in the wilderness.

The central kitchen area is the "life center" of the Beidou Y500: a long countertop integrates an induction cooktop, a sink, and an 85L refrigerator, with storage underneath for a full set of kitchenware. The 2x2.5m electric awning transforms the vehicle into an outdoor kitchen.

The bathroom area, while compact, is fully equipped-an electric water heater and pull-out showerhead ensure free hot water, while an optional stainless steel inground sink ensures worry-free cleaning. The Beidou Y500's "energy heart" consists of a 48V 200Ah lithium battery (approximately 10 kWh), a 6kW inverter, and a 400W solar panel. A 200L clean water tank and an 80L gray water tank, along with a fuel-powered integrated heater, ensure water and electricity freedom.

The Beidou Y500 Flagship Edition is far more than just a camper van-it's a chariot for off-roaders conquering the wilderness, a poetic haven for camping enthusiasts, and a redefinition of "off-road living." When the roar of all-wheel drive meets the warmth of a pop-up bed, when the passion of off-roading meets the leisurely comforts of camping, this mobile haven, with its 468,000 yuan price tag, invites everyone who yearns for freedom to write their own wilderness story.
